Aerial work platform training for operators (+e-Learning)
Operating an aerial work platform involves more than just operating our machine. Risky situations may occur. At Doornbos Training Centre you learn how to assess the risks so that you know what you can do to ensure your safety and that of your environment. With the aerial work platform training you learn how to use an aerial lift correctly, safely and efficiently.
Who needs aerial work platform training?
The training is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced aerial work platform users. During the training we use the type of aerial platform that will be used later. For employees in the petrochemical industry, the maritime industry and industrial cleaning, we offer the possibility to conclude this training with an SOG exam (in accordance with guidelines of the SSVV). Participation in the course does not require specific prior education. However, the participant must be in possession of a valid VCA certificate.
During this one-day course we cover:
- Occupational health and safety legislation and legal provisions
- Driving, positioning and risk analysis
- Environmental and ground conditions
- Inspections before commissioning
- Wind and weather conditions
- Personal protection equipment
- Dangerous incidents
Duration of the training and exams + e-Learning
The training lasts one day. In addition to theory, we give practical instructions. In this practical training, theoretical knowledge is applied. Experienced and practically trained instructors ensure participants receive the proper support. After successful completion of the course, the participant receives an internationally recognized certificate. The IPAF is an organization that focuses on the safe and effective use of aerial work platforms. The achieved International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) aerial work platform certificate (the PAL Card) is personal and valid for five years.
The theoretical part of this training can also be done by the IPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Operator eLearning module. Because of the current measures regarding the Coronavirus, the eLearning module provides you the opportunity to already do the theoretical part by yourself, online. Accordingly, the theory test and practical exam needs to be done within 90 days after successful completion of the theoretical part. Click here for more information.
Dates and location are determined in consultation.

The Doornbos Training Centre provides training on location and in groups in Amsterdam and Rotterdam and is affiliated with Doornbos Equipment. We direct our courses to the rented equipment. This leads to maximum applicability and therefore higher safety.
We not only focus on the correct use of the machines, but also on the most sustainable use of the machines. This gives a noticeable difference in emissions and costs. All our courses are certified nationally and/or internationally.
