Telescopic Handler Training

Due to heavy loads and an (often) uneven surface, there are many risks when using a telescopic handler. To ensure the safety of all employees, we teach you how to use a telescopic handler in the right way. We will discuss various loads that you may encounter in practice, safety instructions, connecting and disconnecting different parts and daily maintenance checks.

Who needs telescopic handler training?

This certificate is for everyone who uses telescopic handlers with a lifting function and a maximum working load moment of 10 ton-meters. The training is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced telescopic handler users. During the training we use the type of telescopic handler that is used in practice. Participation in the training does not require specific prior education. The participant must be in possession of a valid VCA diploma and valid driving license B.

Subjects covered

During this one-day course we cover:

  • Health and safety legislation and legal provisions
  • Features, safety instructions and warnings
  • Load radius charts and load determinations
  • Daily maintenance check and commissioning
  • Practical instruction and warnings
  • Vehicle inspection and driving proficiency test
  • Picking up, transporting and removing loads
    Coupling and uncoupling attachments

Duration of the training and exams

The duration of this training depends on the experience of the participant and type of telescopic handler. The training consists of a theory and a practical part. In the morning we go into the theory, in the afternoon the practice follows and we get to work on the telescopic handler. After successful completion of the exam, the participant receives a certificate. The certificate obtained is personal and valid for five years.
